MathSoc (The University of Greenwich Mathematics Society) was set up to promote mathematics among the students. It is part of the Mathematical Sciences Department.
Our aim is to make mathematics more accessible to those who share our interest in it, however large or small that might be. Our membership is currently made up of all students enrolled on University of Greenwich Mathematics programmes. However, membership is open to everyone so take time to look at the website and join the society if you are not already a member. Membership of MathSoc is free.
The Society is run predominantly by a group of maths undergraduates with input from research students and lecturers. See Who's Who to view the current and past committee members. More people are always required so if you would like to be involved please let us know.
In the course of promoting maths at Greenwich we organise various seminars and social events over the academic year. We are always open to suggestions for new activities so again, please feel free to suggest some. Also look out for our newsletter, Prime Times, published twice a year.
For those who like puzzles and challenges look under Maths Trivia section in the Mathematics section - if you have some of your own, feel free to send them to us!
We hope you enjoy browsing through this website and we look forward to hearing from you. We recommend you check out the news and events section first to see what's going on.
